NASA’s Artemis II Countdown Begins: First Crewed Lunar Mission in 50 Years

    In Short এক নজরে

NASA’s Artemis II mission has begun its official launch countdown for April 1, 2026, from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It will be the first crewed mission to fly around the Moon in over 50 years, since Apollo 17 in 1972.

Four astronauts—Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch from NASA, and Jeremy Hansen from the Canadian Space Agency—will ride the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion spacecraft on a 10‑day lunar flyby.

The flight will test deep‑space systems, navigation, life support, and safe re‑entry ahead of later Artemis missions that aim to land humans on the Moon again.
