Andhra Pradesh's Minister for IT and HRD, Nara Lokesh, stated that the passing of the ‘Andhra Pradesh Reorganization (Amendment) Bill, 2026’ in the Lok Sabha marks a historic moment.
He noted that, through this bill, Amaravati has been accorded legal recognition as the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh—a development he described as great news for the state's population of approximately 50 million people.
