    Indian Navy commissions indigenous stealth frigate INS Mahendragiri

    The Indian Navy commissioned the indigenous stealth frigate INS Mahendragiri (F38) into its Eastern Fleet at Visakhapatnam on 11 July 2026. It is the sixth Project 17A Nilgiri-class frigate, built with about 75% indigenous content. The warship has advanced stealth technology, modern weapons, and can counter air, surface, and underwater threats.
